If any of you have been keeping up with my Twitter updates, you know my back has been killing me. Yesterday, I had to walk 5 and a half blocks with a 12 inch cake that weighed a ton. "Why?" you ask. Well my mom ordered a Jamaican fruit cake for Christmas to bring with us to my Aunt's house for Christmas. Because of all the crazy weather we're having she and my grandma decided we're not going this year.

Even though we're not going, she already ordered the cake weeks ago so I had to pick it up yesterday. We gave the guy $25 for a down payment on the 10 inch cake. When I went to pick it up I was only supposed to give him another $25. But of course, the bakery they ordered the cake from screwed up the order and sent him a 12 inch cake. The total price for that was $60 so I gave him an extra $10 because he was going to be charged for it anyway and I didn't want him to lose out.

Then came the fun part ... carrying the sucker home while trying not to fall down on the slush and ice that are the streets of SoNo New Ro. For the most part, the sidewalks are pretty clean, but you have those areas that weren't cleaned because the businesses that used to be there closed and neighboring stores didn't play Good Samaritan and shovel the sidewalk so cake carriers like myself don't slip.

Five and a half blocks later, the cake and I were home safe and sound.

Mr. Grinch May Be Mean, But This Cover Is Nice

I subscribe to the Fueled by Ramen channel on YouTube. Since the holidays are coming up, they've up'd holiday vids of different artists on the label. I'm loving this VersaEmerge cover of You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch. I've never heard of VersaEmerge before (a result of being too busy this semester to keep up with FBR's latest bands), but I will definitely be giving them a listen this winter.

Never too Early to Remix Xmas Music

I haven't been on a GAP in ages, but when Christmas time comes I always check out their website for fun holiday-themed extras. This year is no different. You're able to remix "Jingle Bells" with singers and actors like Flo Rida, Selma Blair, Jon Heder, Freddy Rodriguez, Trey Songz, and Jason Biggs. I had a lot of fun making my mix, as will you.
