Loving this EarthTone

I stumbled across the group EarthTone by accident. A couple of months ago I was looking for a cover of T-Pain's Buy You A Drank for my advertising project. While I searched YouTube, Brad Doggett's cover of the hit song popped up. I loved his cover so much that I started to watch his other videos.

One of the videos in particular was of him and four other guys singing an original song called I Love Music. I was impressed at how well the group blended an acoustic guitar, r&b, beatboxing, and rap. They call themselves EarthTone. You can check them out on MySpace here, but first listen to the studio version of I Love Music. Who doesn't love music, especially when it sounds as great as this?

EarthTone's definitely one to watch in '09.

If you ever become famous and your equally famous rock star boyfriend breaks up with you, take a page out of Taylor Swift's book to get back at him. You'll see what I mean when the video hits 4:15.

For those of you who sadly have no clue what I'm talking about, here's the deal. Country singer Taylor Swift dated Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers over the summer. They are not together anymore because Joe allegedly broke up with her over the phone. Now if you didn't get the whole 4:15 part of the video, go back and watch. Hopefully it'll make sense now.

Nick Jonas' ex, Miley Cyrus, has a new boyfriend. His name is Justin Gaston, and he's 20 years old. She's not even 16 yet (her birthday's November 23). Creepy? Yes. Illegal? Probably. But what can I do? I'm just a blogger.

For Halloween, Justin dressed as Nick Jonas. Girls, unlike Taylor's little snip at Joe, DO NOT have your boyfriend dress as your ex for Halloween. That's just called being a douche bag. You don't want that on your resume. (Trust me.)



And now for the last Jonas brother.

Okay, I have nothing to report about Kevin. Unlike his brothers, he hasn't been involved in any scandalous relationships yet. I feel like no one pays much attention to him. Then again, he hasn't met me yet. ;-)

**Update** I just found out that November 5th is Kevin's birthday! How'd this not make the news? (And by news I mean Access Hollywood.) He's the big 2-1 now. Here's to at least one scandal in your future ... cheers!

October may be coming to an end, but October Nites isn't going anywhere. For the next two weeks they'll take up residence on the PureVolume homepage. On ON's profile, visitors will get an exclusive first listen of their new EP, Follow Your Heart.

A source of mine (you know who you are) tells me that October Nites will be releasing new material! I've already heard a few tracks because well, I'm awesome and my source is the ultimate insider.

Get ready to Follow Your Heart as October Nites unleashes new tracks in the upcoming weeks and be sure to look for them on the PureVolume home page at the end of the month.

The tracks I've heard are truly lust at first listen. Once you hear them, you'll be weak for more. I'm not good at describing sounds, but I can tell you that if I put them in a playlist with major bands, you'd never know that ON hasn't been signed to a label yet. Their work is that good.

ON will be hitting the road in the upcoming months, so be sure to check their MySpace for dates and cities.

Who Needs Religion Class When You Have MySpace?

I'm a legit Catholic School girl. I've been in Catholic School since kindergarten. Even my college is Catholic. What I learned in 14 years worth of religion classes can be learned in this video that's under a minute. I feel like I should ask for my money back.

Totally Irrational

I've had my MySpace since the summer before senior year of high school (August '05). I've had my Facebook since October '06. My Facebook wall now has 500 wall posts (thanks Micah), but my older MySpace profile (the one I've spent countless hours making picture perfect over the years) has only 361 comments. So not fair. Then again, I've only been on Twitter for like 3 weeks and I already have 167 updates.
